Windows Phone 7 at Tech-Ed Africa 2010
I came away a bit disappointed from the Windows Phone 7 demonstrations at Tech-Ed Africa 2010. At launch, the Windows Marketplace will not be available in South Africa and this is very disappointing. Also, I could not determine if there was any default application for managing Outlook Tasks and synchronizing these with Exchange. As a project manager and a practitioner of Getting Things Done, having my task list synchronize with Exchange Server is a “must have”. Overall, it seems like Microsoft is trying to play catch-up with their smartphone offering. Windows Phone 7 has come a long way and seems fast and slick, but overall it is most probably at least a year behind other big-name smartphones.
